Lance Cunningham Ford attracts customers from all over eastern Tennessee want a highly durable pickup truck that exudes style and provides powerful performance. Our loyal customers typically ask about the Ford F-150, since the highly rated pickup truck simply rolls off the tongues of pickup truck aficionados. However, we have a surprise for our pickup truck customers and it does not involve the F-150.

On March 23, 2015, Ford unveiled the redesigned mid size Ranger truck that should turn the heads of the most devout F-150 fans.

Exterior and Interior Enhancements Make the New Ranger Sparkle

Under the bright lights of the Bangkok Auto Show, the new Ford Ranger dazzled attendees with its marked redesigned exterior and interior. The all-new front end conjures up the image of the Everest SUV, with headlights that protrude from a uniquely designed trapezoidal grille. Ford slightly slopes the hood to create a more aggressive appearance that defines the rugged durability of a truck that tows cargo loads comparable to the cargo loads towed by the largest pickup trucks. Inside of the mid size truck, our customers find an eight-inch touchscreen that presents high-resolution videos for both navigation and entertainment. The all-new dual-TFT instrument cluster sits behind the steering wheel to provide you with easy access to a wide variety of aesthetic and performance controls. Many automotive analysts compare the interior design of the new Ranger to the design found inside of a crossover vehicle.

The New Ford Ranger Gives a New Meaning to Safety

Whether you visit Sunsphere or trek through the backcountry inside of Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the Ford Ranger gets you to where you want to go safely. Adaptive radar cruise control automatically adjusts cruising speeds to accommodate the speed of other vehicles. Instead of manually adjusting cruise control to move in a suddenly emerging traffic jam, the new Ford Ranger slows the pickup truck down to match the speed of traffic. Lane Keeping Alert warns you whenever the Ranger veers outside of its proper driving lane. If you do not heed the warning, the advanced safety feature automatically adjusts the steering wheel to avoid making contact with another vehicle. Do you have a tendency to dose off during long trips to visit the Knoxville Zoo or Old Gray Cemetery? The new Ford Ranger includes a driver alert that wakes you whenever the safety feature detects the truck’s movement to indicate a drowsy driver.

Stability and Traction Control Built into the Ford Ranger

Many automakers include a safety feature called Stability and Traction Control. Ford designs the new Ranger to stay balanced over the most rugged terrain or slickest backcountry roads. The body on frame truck never loses its grip on the road due to the electronically controlled transfer case and locking rear differential. Ford engineers upgraded the suspension system to create more comfort and improved handling, even for hauling heavy loads from deep within the wilderness. Electric power-assisted steering produces more accurate steering, especially at high speeds along sharp turns.

Power that Rivals the F-150

The Ranger offers you four engine options that include a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder beast that generates 347 pounds-feet of torque. Improved gas recirculation has increased fuel economy by 18 percent. Paired with either the six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission, the new Ford Ranger delivers a powerful performance that ranks near the top of the mid size pickup truck class. Lance Cunningham Ford customers that do not need the level of torque to navigate through rugged eastern Tennessee terrain can opt for the smaller 2.5-liter Duratec petrol engine that generates 164 horsepower and 166 pounds-feet of torque. As Ford officials stated during the unveiling of the new Ranger in Bangkok, customers have the flexibility to create any type of Ranger that they want.

Ford plans to continue production of the new Ranger in Thailand for Asia Pacific markets and Argentina to satisfy demand in Latin American markets. The automaker has not announced plans for launching the new Ranger in the United States, although the team Lance Cunningham Ford hopes that Ford changes their minds in the near future.
