We Proudly Support Our Community

The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a nonprofit donor-supported organization, is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide).   In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.  Since 1955, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has been the driving force behind the pursuit of a cure.

Lance Cunningham Ford has been involved in CFF for over 5 years, since the inception of the Knoxville chapter of CFF.

Relay For Life®, the American Cancer Society's signature event, is an overnight experience designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer. At Relay, people from within the community gather to celebrate survivors, remember those lost to cancer, and to fight back against this disease. Relay participants help raise money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society in its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health issue.

Lance Cunningham Ford participates in the Fountain City event in north Knoxville.  For the 2008 Relay, Fountain City has 11 teams and over 250 participants.  Lance Cunningham Ford is a cooperate sponsor for Relay, Fountain City.  Our team is made up of the Lance Cunningham Family of employees, their families, and our customers.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of East Tennessee granted its first wish in 1988 and has granted over 400 wishes through the services of more than 120 volunteers. Any child 2½ and under the age of 18, who has been determined by a physician to have a life-threatening illness and has not been granted a previous wish, may be eligible. Make-A-Wish® grants wishes to all eligible children, regardless of race, religion, or socio-economic status. Granting a child's one greatest wish inspires him or her to continue living with exuberance.

Lance Cunningham Ford is proud to be a contributor to the Make A Wish Foundation as a Waltz for Wishes sponsor.  2008 marks the first year of our participation with this extraordinary organization, and we look forward to many years of partnership in making the wishes of children come true.
